Introduction to the Susquehanna Municipal Trust

Member Dividends

Collaborative risk management reduces all members’ risks and associated cost. Each year, the Susquehanna Municipal Trust evaluates the return of eligible surplus for member dividends.

Since the Trust’s inception in 1995, a total of $18,934,241 in dividends has been returned to SMT members.

BENECON - Trust Administrator

Benecon serves as the Trust Administrator under the direction of the Board of Trustees. The SMT team at Benecon provides daily Trust administration, direct communication and liaison with Trust members, and coordination of services with the Trust’s professional consultants.

Inservco

inservco

 

Inservco provides claims administration services in a prompt, professional, and responsive manner. These services include client education, medical management, and point-of-service contact to assist members and their employees.

Inservco also serves as the safety and loss control consultant to the Trust, offering Accident & Illness Prevention Program elements including training, member surveys, safety committee, and claims analysis services.

Thomas, Thomas & Hafer

 

The Camp Hill-based firm of Thomas, Thomas & Hafer includes a practice group for workers compensation. TTH provides claims litigation services coordinated with Inservco and Benecon in the best interests of the Trust and the member.

Midwest Employers Casualty

 

Midwest Employers Casualty provides workers’ compensation excess insurance to self-funded groups across the country. All new member applications are submitted to Midwest for review.

Brown Plus

Brown Plus Accountants & Advisors compiles the annual financial statement for all plan years. The Brown Plus accounting and auditing staff reports directly to the Board of Trustees and provides a thorough audit of the Trust’s financial activities.

Accu-Audits

 

Payroll audits are conducted on an annual basis by Accu-Audits. The professional staff employed at Accu-Audits specialize in workers compensation audits.

Actuarial consulting services provided by Conrad Siegel Actuaries include certification of Trust loss reserves and rates, providing consultations for various state-required reports.
